The NEWEST and MOST EXCITING Cannabinoid yet, THCA! THCA stands for tetrahydrocannabinol acid, and it is the precursor cannabinoid to THC, it exists in its acidic form before decarboxylation (this process is outlined further down). THCA does not have any psychoactive effects on its own, but when combined with heat it converts to Delta 9 THC which will have psychoactive effects.
YES THCA IS FEDERALLY COMPLIANT AND LEGAL IN CERTAIN STATES, AS LONG AS THE PRODUCT HAS A COA (Certificate of Analysis).
Yep! THCA products are shippable as long as the product is below 0.3% Delta 9 THC and you are in a state that hasn’t outlawed it explicitly. It is Federally Legal to ship, however some states have chosen to outlaw it specifically. THCA does NOT ship to the following states – Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont
You will not pass a drug test if you use any THCA products With heat applied, decarboxylation takes place converting the THCA to Delta 9 THC, which Will show up on a test, however even prior to decarboxylation and depending upon the drug test used, it may still test positive.
The main difference between THCA and Delta 9, is that THCA is a completely Federally Legal cannabinoid. Delta 9 THC is Illegal if over 0.3% by dry weight.
It depends what state you live in and your unique needs / wants. If you live in any State outside of Arizona, Idaho, Minnesota, and Oregon then THCA is fully compliant and legal for you. Oregon and Arizona customers would be better off going to your local Medical / Adult Use Dispensary. Customers in Minnesota will need to use a Medical Dispensary or grow their own. Buy and consume THCA Hemp Flower at your own risk. This is a Hemp product but it looks as smells exactly like normal Cannabis. Please use this product at your own risk, keep your lab tests handy. We are not responsible for any arrest or fine caused by having this product in your possession due to a misunderstanding of what it actually is.
Yes, the interstate transfer of Hemp, which includes THCa Hemp flower, is authorized by Federal Law. 7 USC § 1621 subsection 10114(b), states in relevant part: “No State or Indian Tribe shall prohibit the transportation or shipment of Hemp or Hemp products produced in accordance with subtitle G of the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (AMA) (as added by section 10113) through the State or the Territory of the Indian Tribe, as applicable.”5 Although state laws vary with respect to Hemp and Hemp products, it is absolutely clear that States and Indian Tribes may not prohibit the transport of them through their borders. THCA Hemp Flower does not ship to Arizona, Idaho, Minnesota, or Oregon
Yep, Seeds are 100% Federally Compliant. All seeds contain 0% THC and no cannabinoids, until grown the seeds are considered a hemp product due to being below 0.3% D9THC.
Yes and no, it depends upon the state you live in. Some states allow the growth of just Hemp plants containing 0.3% D9THC, however others have allowed the full use of home grow for any Cannabis plant. Its best to check the local laws and regulations depending upon your state / county.
CBD Distillate is typically made with a short path distillation apparatus or a wiped film distillation apparatus. The process typically starts with CBD Crude Oil. From that point, CBD is extracted via the extraction system of choice to produce either THC Free CBD Distillate, Broad Spectrum Distillate or Full Spectrum distillates.
CBD Isolate can be made via a few different methods. One method for making CBD Isolate is 100% solvent free and uses heat / pressure, but is generally less efficient (Products Labelled Accordingly). This does not mean that the CBD Isolate which is made by other methods is harmful, this is just one of many methods. Isolates can also be made via a solvent method such as ethanol, butane or pentane. These products require proper purging to ensure safety. Extractions should only be performed by a licensed lab.
LOD (Limit of Detection) is the lowest quantifiable amount in an extraction that can be read at a lab. IE the minimum the lab equipment can detect may be 0.5%. The LOD will always be lower than the LOQ (Limit of Quantification)
LOQ (Limit of Quantification) means that the analyte was detected within the analyzed material but the quantity is too small to report on the exact amount.
RL (Reaching Limit) means that the analyte tested is reaching safe limits. The tested analyte has been detected within the material but has not exceeded safe limits.
ND (Non-Detect) means the analyte was not detected in the tested material, this does not mean the analyte is not present. This only means that the analyte is not at a high enough level to be considered readable or detectable by the testing lab.
Delta 8 THC occurs naturally in Cannabis and Hemp plants , but in very low concentrations, (1-4% current max achievable). Typically this would be extracted from the Cannabis plant, but because of the low concentration this is not feasible at the current moment. Due to this, the process of conversion, “isomerization” is necessary. This process should only be performed by a skilled chemist in a licensed lab. The definition of isomerization can be found below among the category titles. There are multiple methods by which to convert CBD into Delta 8, such as using a short path distillation setup, wiped film distillation setup or a glass reactor, rotary evaporator and short path distillation apparatus (Only to be performed by a skilled chemist in a registered lab with rigorous safety testing). Some other methods for making Delta 8 include The “Roguelab” method, “Rocksteady” method, “WKU Consulting” method and the “Zwackelmann” method.
The onset of the Delta 8 Effects typically ranges from 1-120 minutes, depending upon consumption method, potency and any possible entourage combinations. Vaping or smoking generally has the fastest onset time, while dietary supplements and other consumption methods tend to take longer but may come on stronger and effects may last longer depending upon dosage.
The isomer known as Delta 8 was made legal due to H.R. 2: The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 IE The 2018 Hemp Farm Bill. The 2018 Hemp Farm Bill legalized the use of all part of the Hemp plants as long as they contain less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC by weight. As long as the product is Hemp derived and below 0.3% Delta 9 THC it is therefor legal.
The Consumer Reports on the effects of Delta 8 THC are perceived to be similar, yet milder than Delta 9 THC. It is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid, roughly 50-70% the potency of Delta 9, and the effects of Delta 8 last roughly the same amount of time as Delta 9. According to some consumers Delta 8 produces less anxiety than Delta 9, along with providing many of the same positive effects. These effects are reported to be euphoria, happiness, uplifting feelings, and relief from some pain symptoms. Delta 8 may possibly also help those with insomnia, according to consumers.
The color of your Delta 8 Distillate can range from near perfect clear, to a pinkish / reddish hue, to yellowish. Some people are even making distillate that is cloudy (generally cloudy is a warning sign for impurity, but Delta 8 will turn cloudy after being stored for a long time). Generally the only true and surefire way to gauge the purity of your delta 8 or other cannabinoids is your COA’s (Certificate of Analysis / Lab Results).
The estimated shelf life for Delta 8 Distillate can be up to 2 years given the proper storage conditions, however this may be more or less depending upon the storage conditions.
The estimated shelf life for HHC Distillate is believed to be longer than that of Delta 8. HHC can be thought of as a “apocalypse cannabinoid”, due to its very long shelf life, resistance to elements and low degradation over time.
Yes, as with THCA which is mentioned above, you will most likely test positive on a drug test if you use any Delta 8 products, while Delta 8 is a different molecule then Delta 9 (Illegal molecule) it is still a THC metabolite, therefore will test positive for THC.
Maybe, the research is unclear on whether or not you would test positive using any HHC based products as it is different than a THC metabolite. On standard drug testing the test is a positive, IE a CVS bought drug test, then it was return positive, but on a lab test this result may come up negative / inconclusive / positive with HHC in your system.
Hemp Derived Delta 9 is made via the process of isomerization. The starting product, CBD Isolate or CBD distillate, is converted into Delta 9 THC or a mixture of Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC. This mixture can then be further purified and converted into Delta 8 or Delta 9.
Isomerization is the term to describe the process of converting one molecule into another. It is used on molecules within the same element that have the same number of atoms. Hemp Derived Delta 8, Delta 9, Delta 10 and HHC are Isomers of CBD. This process is typically used to convert CBD into Delta 8, Delta 10 or Delta 9. Any product isomerized from Hemp material, is an isomer of CBD and therefor legal.
The process of hydrogenation is traditionally associated with converting Olive oil into margarine. But applied to Cannabis it can change the tetra molecule to a hydra molecule, IE replacing it with a hydrogen molecule (D8THC -> HHC). HHC is essentially a THC metabolite without any double bonds in it chemical structure, in this molecule all bonds have been broken and replaced with hydrogen. HHC is generally regarded as a much more stable molecule than traditional D9 THC, meaning it has a higher shelf life before slowly degrading in potency. This compound is extremely resistant to oxidation, breakdown, improper storage, exposure to heat or exposure to UV light. This compound is considered Semi-Synthetic, as it has been shown to appear within the Cannabis / Hemp plants throughout the years, but it is within such a low concentration within the plant that it must be converted. The process of hydrogenation can also be applied to H4CBD and HHC.
CGMP is a certificate and label within the USA meaning the facility meet guidelines recommended by relevant agencies. This certification ensures proper quality and safety for pharmaceutical grade products. This certification insures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of drug products by requiring that manufacturers of medications adequately control manufacturing operations. This includes establishing strong quality management systems, obtaining appropriate quality raw materials, establishing robust operating procedures, detecting and investigating product quality deviations, and maintaining reliable testing laboratories. This formal system of controls at a pharmaceutical company, if adequately put into practice, helps to prevent instances of contamination, mix-ups, deviations, failures, and errors. This assures that drug products meet their quality standards.
All of our partner’s / suppliers have GMP Certifications. The Southern Maryland Experience, does not currently have its GMP, however is in the process towards receiving it.
The USDA Certified Organic Hemp label means said product has been grown organic and is certified via the USDA Hemp Program. Some products may still be pending certification and are labelled accordingly. These products are still grown organically, but the certification may be pending for paperwork or other reasons.
Live Resin is a Cannabis or Hemp extract known for being the fresh, strong, and high in quality and flavor. By flash freezing the Cannabis plant then extracting compounds. This process keeps the terpenes as in-tact as possible. Live Resin can be dabbed, smoked on-top of a bowl, mixed with a cart, the extract can be extracted even further to make other types of extracts or terpenes.
Live Rosin is a Cannabis or Hemp extract made using heat and pressure. Typically either the Hemp or Cannabis flower is placed into a certain grade of micron filtered bag, then the bag is placed between 2 heat plates, the plates heat up while a press presses down on the flower within the bags. Then out comes the extract in its rosin form from the side of the plates / bag. Live Rosin can be dabbed, smoked on-top of a bowl, mixed with terpenes in a cartridge or mixed with distillate and terpenes within a cartridge, you may also use live rosin to extract further and get other solventless based concentrates.
Terpenes are a natural form of flavoring and aroma within plants, such as mangos, lemon, and the Cannabis Sativa plant. In the plant and animal kingdom, the terpenes are believed to be a defense mechanism or natural deterrent for critters that may want to harm or eat the plants. They contribute to the traditional “Sativa or Indica” that comes within a cannabis or Hemp strain. Terpenes may be extracted via Steam Distillation, CO2, Solvent or hydrocarbon based extraction methods in which the terpenes can be isolated.
Live Terpenes (HDT, Live Resin, Live Rosin or CDT), are the essential oils or terpenes from within the Cannabis and Hemp plants. The term “live terpenes” refers to all terpenes sourced only from Cannabis or Hemp material. These terpenes are the 100% true flavor of the flower, just in a cart, with no cutting agents or artificial flavors. We NEVER use straight BDT terps in our products, as we believe it in inauthentic to the natural experience. But we do have a Hybrid terps option for those seeking a similar flavor profile. ALL OF OUR TERPENES CONTAIN NO CANNABINOIDS AND ARE 100% D9THC FREE.
Steam Distilled Terpenes (HDT or CDT), are Terpenes derived from sources within the Cannabis and Hemp plants. These sources are 100% Cannabis Sativa derived, using the process of heat and steam to extract the terpene oils. Generally perceived to be above the quality of BDT terpenes but the lowest quality of all “live terpene” extracts.
CO2 Distilled Terpenes (HDT or CDT), are the top of the line terpenes, derived directly from the Hemp or Cannabis plants. These Terpenes are made using below 90 degree temperatures, preserving as much flavor and quality from the flower as possible. These are the best of the best terpenes.
Hybrid Terpenes are a mix of Botanical Derived Terpenes (Sourced from TrueTerps) and Cannabis Derived Live Terpenes (CO2). This is for the consumer seeking the best of both words, the robust and natural flavor of the Live Terps and the sweetness of the Botanical terps. The Majority of our products will focus on the Live terped version, as we believe it is closer to the authentic quality of the strain, but due to some request we have decided to add this line-up.
BDT Terpenes (Botanical Derived Terpenes), are Terpenes derived from sources other than the Cannabis / Hemp plant. These are sources still within nature, but the flavor / taste / smell may be extracted from Lemons, Mango’s, Flowers or another natural source instead. This in turn produces a cheaper price, but a lower overall quality. These are your traditional “Vape flavors”. We NEVER use straight BDT terps in our products, as we believe it in inauthentic to the natural experience. But we do have a Strain Specific Hybrid terps option for those seeking a similar flavor profile. ALL OF OUR TERPENES CONTAIN NO CANNABINOIDS AND ARE 100% D9THC FREE.
A Water Soluble concentrate is a concentrate that is easier to infuse with water, it can be a liquid or a powdery solid (similar to isolate). It generally is less potent per gram than a traditional concentrate but it has a shorter onset time, being able to be effectively emulsified within water instead of oils / fats.
Nano Emulsified is a process used to infuse water with a concentrate / cannabinoid. This process increases the bio-availability of the cannabinoids within the body. Due to the increase in Bio-Availability in the body these products tend to hit faster and harder than a traditional water soluble infusion.
