What is Delta 8 THC?

Delta 8 THC is a rare cannabinoid within the cannabis / hemp plant. All our our Delta 8 THC is hemp derived and are less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC by weight. Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC have similar names but are different on a chemical structure, a Delta 8 THC molecule has a double bond on the eight carbon chain, which Delta 9 THC has the double bond on the ninth carbon chain. Delta 8 is sometimes nicknamed “weed lite” due to the effect being perceived as weaker than Delta 9 THC and due to the federally legal status on the cannabinoid. Delta 8 THC is still a THC metabolite and will trigger a drug test.

Delta 8 THC was made legal by the 2018 Hemp farm bill aka Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018 allowing a maximum Delta 9 THC content of 0.3% while allowing all natural isomers of CBD including Delta 8 THC, Delta 10 THC, HHC and THCP.

What Solvents and Conversion Methods are used for this product?

Delta 8 Amber Starts from CBD Distillate. First the CBD Distillate is extracted via Ethanol. Then the solution is remediated of ethanol, leading to the step known as isomerization. Isomerization required the CBD isolate to be submerged into a solvent (in this product heptane) along with the addition of PTSA, A15 Catalystic Beads, or a Lewis Acid (Hydrochloric Acid). This product uses PTSA as the conversion method, which is generally regarded as safer then the traditionally done Lewis Acid Method. After several hours the conversion is finished, the end product is then remediated of all solvents and PTSA / acids then distilled to be ready to use. Please always confirm a product that uses conversion has a full panel test to ensure safety!
